This time, it's in Mississippi. On November 8th, Mississippians will vote on the amendment to give fertilized eggs personhood or not. If this amendment passes, not only will abortion be banned...but so would birth control, IVF, and women that have had a miscarriage would be put under an investigation (because they're not already going through enough as it is with the miscarriage itself *sarcasm*)

Sign this petition to tell the MS General Attorney's Office to stop policing women's bodily autonmy and put a stop to Amendemnt 26

It may be Mississippi right now, but as I've said before...Maryland has had this type of amendment before, but it successfully died when the Maryland General Assembly and Senate adjourned for the year. And the extremist group-Personhood USA-is trying to get this amendment passed in all of the fifty states.

From NARAL:

Anti-choice (yes, that's the word right now rather than pro-life) leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives announced that the House will vote on an extreme anti-choice bill on Thursday, October 13.

The bill would allow a hospital to refuse a woman life-saving, emergency abortion care even if she will die without it. On top of that, it effectively would ban insurance coverage of abortion in state health-insurance exchanges, denying abortion coverage to millions of women.

It’s outrageous that as President Obama is urging Congress to focus on creating jobs, House Speaker John Boehner is moving an extreme anti-choice agenda.

Please contact your lawmaker right now to help us stop this attack.

o O How this could be considered "pro-life" is beyond me.

This is basically the same as the previous post, but this is through NOW.

As I said, from NOW:
Urgent action required! The House of Representatives plans to consider H.R. 358 this Thursday, Oct. 13. This so-called "Protect Life Act" will amend the Affordable Care Act to prohibit federal funds from being used for any part of any plan that provides coverage for abortion care. In addition, it would allow hospitals to refuse to provide or even refer a patient for abortion care, even if doing so would cause a woman to die. Demand your representative vote NO on H.R. 358.
