For the time being, I'm going to set the entries on "members only" here because I'm getting sick and tired of getting all these comments from suspended users. It's annoying to come on here thinking that someone commented on something when it's nothing but a suspended user who was most likely trolling. On top of that, I can't remove these comments once the user has been suspended. So, for the time being, I encourage you all to set your posts to members only and I will do the same. Then, when this shit stops, we can set our posts to whatever we like.

ETA: If you have any idea how to set the comments to members only, that would be great. I'm sure there's a way to do it like you can on your personal journal.

I've decided to have open membership again. I figured that if a bot posts something or I see a bot type profile, I just remove them and ban them from the community.

It came to me today (or just a few minutes ago). Why the hell should I punish the members of [livejournal.com profile] prochoicemd by moderating posts when all of you have behaved yourselves just so I can prevent a bot from posting? I mean...a bot can't post here anyway unless they have membership, and membership is moderated.
Btw, other than communities on LJ being spammed...a bot did join this community. Reason why you haven't seen them post is because I checked out their profile...saw the number of communities they had become a member of in a few days, didn't have any journal activity, and friends other than themselves. So, I removed their membership. Good thing I did. It turns out that this bot was one of the ones removed from this community I belong to.

Due to many LJ communities being spammed lately by bots, I've decided to moderate membership and posts. Once the bots give up, I'll put it back on it's original setting because I've seen this happen so much on one of the communities I'm on.

since I began this community. Considering no one else from Maryland has joined, I'm still accepting applications for new moderators.

Read here to see what's required of you to moderate [livejournal.com profile] prochoicemd.

The only thing different from three months ago is that people that don't live in Maryland can now apply for a moderating position and the tasks have changed since I changed the settings on the community.

I'm currently accepting applications for people to moderate [livejournal.com profile] prochoicemd. There are two absolute rules for one to be a moderator:
1. You have to be pro-choice. I prefer if you're not the "pro-choice but" type (aka...people who claim to be pro-choice, but start to harp others for certain things like how many abortions one had or if someone had a kid as a teen).

2. You have to be from Maryland...either a native of the state or a current resident. This is for the time being. If Since I don'tdidn't get many members that are from MD, you can go ahead and apply if you're from somewhere else as long as you're pro-choice.

Since new entries are now moderated, you would accept or reject entries that come into the "Awaiting Moderation" collumn.

Posts that would be acceptable for this community are related to pro-choice issues that are in Maryland (especially) and other states/countries as well as feminist issues that impact reproductive rights (i.e healthcare).

Posts that are not acceptable to this community would be debate over abortion or any other reproductive choice (i.e "Is abortion wrong or right?), a lifer's inquiry about why we are pro-choice, and any entry that talks about drama from other communities or journals. We don't give a shit about other people's and other communities' drama.

If you're not sure, point out the entry to me and I'll decide.
