From NOW:
Join NOW and our allies on Tuesday March 25th in front of the U.S. Supreme Court as the Court considers two cases involving the birth control benefit in the Affordable Care Act. This case could have far-reaching consequences for millions of Americans and their health care. The two companies involved, Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood, are attempting to use their religious beliefs to justify discrimination against women with their refusal to cover birth control.

Join NOW for an hour of a people's mic and rally before you head to work from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Fighting for women's rights in the perfect way to start your day!

If you can't make it to the rally (like your lovely community maintainer :P), there's a banner that NOW is creating to display to display outside the Supreme Court to make sure every supporter's voices are heard. You can sign here to put your name on the banner.

I'm sharing this action notice from Planned Parenthood two days later, which I got on Women's International Day (March 8...which is also my birthday). Even though it's not the 8th anymore, we can still tell Secretary Kerry to protect women's health and rights worldwide since it needs protection everyday.

From PP:
On International Women's Day, delegations from around the world are gathering at the United Nations headquarters to find ways to eliminate violence against women and girls. As Secretary of State, John Kerry has a unique opportunity to lead the way and protect women's health and rights worldwide.

Tell Secretary Kerry to support comprehensive protections for women and girls, including reproductive rights, in global negotiations to eliminate gender based violence and stand strong for women's health as Secretary of State.

From NOW:
Right-wing politicians are waging a ferocious War on Woman, attacking our access to reproductive health care, our economic security, and even our safety from domestic violence and sexual assault. The We Are Woman Rally is endorsed by NOW and other women's rights organizations and is led by dedicated grassroots activists from across the country who are fed up with the right-wing extremists in Washington.

We would love to have as many NOW activists as possible stand with us at this momentous event. Bring your friends, and make your voice heard to stop the War on Women!

As you all know, the national rally will be on April 28th, 2012 in DC. However, just in case you can't go to the nation's capital, there are going to be local rallies and marches all over the country.

For Maryland, a rally is planned to be held at War Memorial Plaza in Baltimore. It's from 10 am until 2 pm. For more information on that rally, go to here.

If you want to check out what events or volunteering opportunities are in your state, go to here.

I got this from NOW, but MoveOn.org is hosting this:

Trust Women Week is from Jan 20th to Jan 27.

People around the country are joining together to show our strength and advocate for women's health and reproductive justice. Join the march now and add your name to our message for Congress and other elected officials.

Many reproductive rights and women's rights organizations support this

Planned Parenthood is joining forces with American Dream movement allies to stand up against cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Cuts to Medicaid, in particular, could drastically impact Planned Parenthood's ability to serve their most vulnerable patients.

The rally is going to be at noon on Thursday, July 28 and it's going to take place at the East-side steps of Capitol Building, Corner of 1st Street NE and Independence Ave S.E

Free t-shirts and signs will be avaiable

Tomorrow is Lobby Day and there will be a big pro-choice rally at the Washington Mall from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. If you can't tend to the pro-choice rally at the Washington Mall, join your local pro-choice chapters as they meet at your state capital to protest the legistration that threatens the reproductive rights of Americans.

Unfortunately for me, I had to go back to Sweden five days ago so I won't be able to participate in any of these events. I will still wear my pro-choice garb though to stand for choice over three thousand miles away. Give them hell and stand up for choice!

This is an episode called "Mystery of the Black Death" from Secrets of the Dead. They talk about this amazing link between these two epidemics. Find out the common link of how people survived the Black Death and how some people have partial or complete immunity from AIDS today.
