I took a screen cap from the page of the Women's March to show how many sister marches are going on outside of Washington D.C and the U.S. It is phenominal how many marchers have registered outside of D.C.

If one can happen near me in Sweden, that would be great (the closest is six hours away, unfortunately, in Stockholm). I'm hoping one happens in Götenborg or Borås

From NOW:
Join NOW and our allies on Tuesday March 25th in front of the U.S. Supreme Court as the Court considers two cases involving the birth control benefit in the Affordable Care Act. This case could have far-reaching consequences for millions of Americans and their health care. The two companies involved, Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood, are attempting to use their religious beliefs to justify discrimination against women with their refusal to cover birth control.

Join NOW for an hour of a people's mic and rally before you head to work from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Fighting for women's rights in the perfect way to start your day!

If you can't make it to the rally (like your lovely community maintainer :P), there's a banner that NOW is creating to display to display outside the Supreme Court to make sure every supporter's voices are heard. You can sign here to put your name on the banner.

From NOW:
Join NOW President Terry O'Neill on Tuesday, Jan. 22, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that recognized women's fundamental right to abortion. NOW affirms that women's access to the full range of reproductive health services -- including safe, legal and affordable abortion care and birth control -- is integral to women's ability to participate equally in our society.

This year our annual candlelight vigil will feature engaging speakers, including:
» Ellie Smeal, Feminist Majority President
» Kimberly Inez McGurie, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health
» Allison Stouffer, DC NOW

If you're in the D.C. area, we hope you'll join the NOW Action Center outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday, Jan. 22. Bring your Keep Abortion Legal and NOW rounds and battery-operated candles (note: traditional candles are not allowed outside the Court). NOW will also have some signs and battery-operated votives on hand.

From NOW:
Right-wing politicians are waging a ferocious War on Woman, attacking our access to reproductive health care, our economic security, and even our safety from domestic violence and sexual assault. The We Are Woman Rally is endorsed by NOW and other women's rights organizations and is led by dedicated grassroots activists from across the country who are fed up with the right-wing extremists in Washington.

We would love to have as many NOW activists as possible stand with us at this momentous event. Bring your friends, and make your voice heard to stop the War on Women!

As you all know, the national rally will be on April 28th, 2012 in DC. However, just in case you can't go to the nation's capital, there are going to be local rallies and marches all over the country.

For Maryland, a rally is planned to be held at War Memorial Plaza in Baltimore. It's from 10 am until 2 pm. For more information on that rally, go to here.

From NARAL:
One of the first things that anti-choice politicians did when they took over Virginia after the last election was launch the War on Women. Now, their campaign to shut down the majority of women’s health centers that provide abortion care in that state is about to become law.

We cannot let the extreme anti-choice politicians continue to attack Virginia women’s right to choose without a fight. Sign our petition to Gov. Bob McDonnell today.

Don’t let Virginia’s women lose the right to choose. Sign your name to the petition calling on Gov. McDonnell to end the War on Women. NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia will deliver your petition during their rally, so take action now.

Planned Parenthood is joining forces with American Dream movement allies to stand up against cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Cuts to Medicaid, in particular, could drastically impact Planned Parenthood's ability to serve their most vulnerable patients.

The rally is going to be at noon on Thursday, July 28 and it's going to take place at the East-side steps of Capitol Building, Corner of 1st Street NE and Independence Ave S.E

Free t-shirts and signs will be avaiable

Tomorrow is Lobby Day and there will be a big pro-choice rally at the Washington Mall from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. If you can't tend to the pro-choice rally at the Washington Mall, join your local pro-choice chapters as they meet at your state capital to protest the legistration that threatens the reproductive rights of Americans.

Unfortunately for me, I had to go back to Sweden five days ago so I won't be able to participate in any of these events. I will still wear my pro-choice garb though to stand for choice over three thousand miles away. Give them hell and stand up for choice!
